Lichfield based Transport for Britain launches its plans to operate a limited passenger train service from Lichfield Trent Valley to the National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas in the October issue of Lichfields City Life magazine. It is hoped that the plans which support a recent West Midlands Rail Executive bid to the Department of Transports ‘Ideas Fund‘ for restoration of regular passenger services on the existing 6 miles of freight line between Lichfield and Burton-on-Trent will gain sufficient support from local people and businesses.
